"A battle? Sounds... Fun." Lorelai said with a smile. She was thinking of ways to get these two to help her clear out the military and perhaps take over as she stood there, this would be a good way to test their strengths. Zeus seemed to be thinking the same as well.
As the wind whipped through the hair of the girl of 18's hair it left a heavenly scent wafting, it smelled of peaches and other various things. The tail of the Vulpix beside her began to flutter with the wind.
Zeus approached the Larvitar and the Hoothoot and began to sniff them slowly.

Kusan watched and looked at the three pokemon. His HootHoot, Rena, Luce's Larvitar, and Lorelai's Vulpix, Zeus, all seemed up and ready for battle. Perfect, i can test their strength, make the three of us stronger, and do step one of cleansing the region all at once. This is fantastic! Kusan stood back a few feet and looked at the situation, calculating, planning, thinking out every situation. He thought about who he should attack and defeat first, or if he should have the other two fight it out then have rena do the finishing moves and defeat the other pokemon.
He looked at Luce, and then at Lorelai. "A battle will be fine, though remember, don't hold back. That shows weakness and allows the enemy to come in and finish you off quickly and easily. Understood?" [/b] He continued calculating in his mind on what he should do and how he should do it, leaving no room for 'what if' or any other form of doubt to form up in his mind and cloud it, he must keep calm and focused, and just work on the task that is in front of him and get rid of the enemies he see now.
Kusan focused on the pokemon, and cast a look at his hoothoot, to let Rena know a battle was about to start, and she started to back up a few feet to get out of danger that might be happening, but close enough to help out. Kusan then muttered to himself "The early bird gets the worm. To win, one must attack first." [/b] He looked at the pokemon and decided it was time to attack and finish this as quickly as possible. "Rena, use growl, then stare directly into the vulpix eyes and cast the strongest hypnosis you can on that creature. Now!" [/b]

Battling . . . What did Luce know about battling. When she had grown up around all of those trainers in Verdanturf, they always spoke about type affectiveness. She searched her memories for what she did know about type affectiveness, but it didn't do her much good, seeing as her memories hardly went back that far. She was being told not to hold back. Could she even do that? It felt like her Larvitar was already past the point of hating her, and wouldn't really do what she said. But seeing as it was already entering their makeshift arena, she sucked up her fears and tried to think logically.
Weakness . . . Luce didn't think of herself as weak, really. She just liked to avoid conflict when she could. She was passive, but were passiveness and weakness one in the same? Maybe that's why Larvitar was stepping all over her. Surely that was a sign of weakness. She spoke her commands, maybe not with confidence, but with some inkling of effort that showed that she cared about the outcome. Even though she really didn't. It was normal to not want to lose, but if she did, that was fine too. Wins and losses weren't something that mattered in her mind.
" . . . Kick up a sandstorm, andstorm, and then . . . use bite on the hoothoot there." She wasn't exactly convincing, as Larvitar turned to face her for a moment, gave her a sharp leer before reluctantly obeying her commands. Though, he was probably going to do it, even if she hadn't commanded it. She needed to get in the habbit so it was fine either way.

"Close your eyes, and use Flamethrower on Hoothoot." Lorelai muttered, she could tell this man had to concern for pokemon, just there power. Therefore, she would teach him a lesson or two while she was at it. Zeus's eyes shut immediately and opened them just enough to aim his beam of fire.

With his eyes half-closed the Vulpix was not affected by the Leer, but he did hear the Growl. The Larvitar heard it, too, and both of them had their attacks lowered slightly as Larvitar Leered at the Hoothoot and whipped up a gritty sandstorm to spin around the area. In closing his eyes, Zeus avoided seeing Hoothoot's Hypnosis, but he still felt its effects and became drowsy. As a result, his Flamethrower moved off-course as it struck the Hoothoot, singing the Larvitar in the process. Then, Larvitar struck the Hoothoot with his Bite, getting him on the wing. Finally, Vulpix and Hoothoot were damaged by flying sand and rocks striking them.

"Drat..." Lorelai muttered, "Try Tail Whip, them Flamethrower them both." she decided.
Zeus nodded and proceeded forward.

Kusan watched his hoothoot follow his orders correctly, casting a hypnosis and growling to make the enemies attack, but unfortunately, she got hit by the flamethrower from the vulpix, and got bit on her wing by the larvitar, and to make matters even worse, theres a sand storm going weakening her even further and getting the most damage out of the three pokemon that are involved in this battle. This isn't a good situation, and unless he thinks up something quick to change the situation, he is going to lose and this will be a major step back in his plan to take over the region.
He looked at Rena, and then at Zeus and the Larvitar. He heard Lorelai yell at something to her vulpix. She was gonna try and tail whip one of them, then use flame thrower on both them, trying to get some decent damage in before what looked like her vulpix trying to fall asleep. He however, can't let this happen, and must find a way around it. He started thinking and calculating, wondering what would be the best he can do to try and finish off that sleepy vulpix before it decided to finish off either Rena or the Larvitar.
"Rena! Quick, dodge the attacks from the vulpix and cast a hypnosis at the larvitar, then try and come in from the side and hit vulpix on the left side with a tackle!" [/b] Rena hooted, acknowledging she heard him and was gonna do as he said. She tried moving to the side to avoid the flamethrower, casting a glance at the larvitar and cast a hypnosis at him. She then proceeded to move forward as fast as she can toward vulpix left side and ram into him with a tackle using as much force she can.

Already tense, Luce probably applied much more urgency to the situation than there actually was. Between the flamethrower, and the hypnosis, both of which threatened to cause harm to her pokemon, she shouted the first thing that came to mind. "B-Bite!" Even if he didn't like her, she didn't want any harm to come to her Larvitar. The last thing she wanted was for him to dislike her more. She could only hope that maybe, if the bite hit, the hoothoot would be too distracted to cast hypnosis, and that the flamethrower's affect would be more directed at it as well. The vulpix looked quite disoriented after all, but that may or may not affect her chances. How long did a sandstorm last again? Would she have to put that in place again? Her head spun, she shouted out one last order. "L-Leer! Bite, then leer!"

Cutely shaking his tails, Vulpix tried to lower the Attack of his opponents, but both of them dodged the Tail Whip by looking away. They had dodged too soon, both of them. Larvitar went to Bite at Hoothoot, but he was just a little bit too slow and was caught head-on by the Hypnosis, falling asleep and landing on his face.. However, he still got to Hoothoot with his Leer attack. Vulpix released twin torrents of flame to hit both of his adversaries, striking a Critical Hit on Hoothoot and normal damage on the sleeping Larvitar. Hoothoot also scored a Critical Hit on Vulpix, knocking the Pokemon over. Vulpix promptly fell asleep as he struck the ground. Then everyone but Larvitar was once again damaged by the weather..

Luce winced as her now sleeping Larvitar was hit by the flamethrower. Not much was going to be done in this situation, it seemed. She looked through her bag --- Some marks, her journal, a couple of different colored shards, a super potion . . . No awakenings. She knew she didn't have any, so she wasn't quite sure why she looked. There had to be something useful . . . but there wasn't. For the time being it looked like she was stuck.
Maybe she should just give up for the time being. But her chance of winning, though slim, still wasn't none, and the vulpix was in just as bad as she was. Her Sandstorm was still in effect . . . She crossed her fingers hoping he would wake up sooner rather than later. "Larvitar, Larvitar," She didn't want to shout, that would seem silly, and the effort would probably be futile anyway.
If woken up: [ Leer (Both), Bite, Bite (Vulpix) ]

Kusan watched as his hoothoot cast a hypnosis to make the larvitar fall asleep, but noticed that she got bit, a leer and a flamethrower! She was getting her ass kicked by these other pokemon, but now that there asleep, she can get an upper hand in the battle and do some decent damage to them.

Unfortunately for two of the trainers, Larvitar and Vulpix remained sleeping. Fortunately, though, resting was bringing back energy for both of them. Hoothoot carried out all three of his Tackle attacks without a problem, since the Vulpix was sleeping too deeply to move away or fight back. Even though the others couldn't attack her, the Sandstorm raged upon Hoothoot, and Vulpix as well.

Kusan smiled at how the battle was going. It was going very well, and that if he kept it up the battle will soon end up in his favor, but any more attacks will cause his hoothoot to end up hurt even worse and probably out of the battle. Which won't be very impressive and can seriously damage his tries to try and convince them to join him for domination of the region.
"Rena! Come here and receive your potion, then use tackle on the vulpix!" [/b]
