Name: Rei Kalari
Age: 25
Gender: Female
Profession: Trainer
Alignment: Military
Appearance: Rei is a naturally slight creature, though years of hard training show in her body. Scars touch her skin lightly in various places and her palms are covered in callouses, though her clothing hides the worst of it. Slightly broad shoulders cause her irritation in wearing most forms of clothing, so she is usually seen either in her custom uniform or relaxing in a sleeveless or otherwise altered shirt.
Besides her military uniform, Rei prefers to dress in dark colors and to let her ebon black hair down. Tinted sunglasses are almost always seen on her face when it isn't particularly dark out, veiling her dark brown eyes. She is usually seen looking rather stoic, though sometimes her expression is simply hard to read due to her sunglasses.
Rei is somewhat short for being in the military, though her uniform displays a soldier as gaining in the ranks. The colors of the uniform are a dark gray in color, her gloves white as snow and her boots black as night. Her Pokeballs are attached to her belt, like a regular trainer, but her air depicts her as being something else.
A tight leather necklace can often be seen when she isn't in uniform, a pair of Pokemon fangs hanging from the cord.
Personality: Rather focused, Rei often tries to grab too many tasks at once before realizing that she has, literally at times, bitten off more than she could chew. Her ambitions have gotten the better of her, and they still do as she tries to force improvement on herself. Her outlook on things are always determined and pessimistic, though she prefers to push ahead rather than dwell on the past.
Sometimes, the wear and tear of her own focus causes her to break down, though she tries to pick her times and places to show weakness so that no one knows her secret pains. She often tries to push others as hard as she pushes herself, though she rarely relaxes from time to time, displaying a rather dark and perverted sense of humor. Curiosity is more often than not the bane of her existence, causing only trouble.
Biography: Rei was once a trainer in Kanto, beginning her journey and ending her childhood rather early as she tried to challenge any and all trainers who would even look at her. More often than not, it lead to a loss, discouraging her younger self. She began to hate Pokemon and training, and began to seclude herself, blaming herself for everything being so hard.
Slowly, she got better, and her Pokemon did their best to keep her cheerful, but in the end, she lost any enjoyment in training Pokemon, instead using them to achieve her means. She pushed them as hard as she pushed herself, and had no trouble getting rid of a Pokemon that didn't like her training methods. Stubborn and determined, it took years for her to even reach the Indigo Plateau, where she lost in the first round.
Frustrated beyond all human imagining, she broke down and got rid of all of her Pokemon, even her starter, and began to travel to look for the strongest people and the strongest Pokemon to help her train. Eventually, she found herself in Altairen in the middle of war. Unaware of the politics involved with the military, she signed up and was given a powerful Pokemon for a partner. Between the two of them with personalities that clicked well, they served together well in the battles that came. That was, until the final battle she could take part in.
The horror of it only sank in after the fact. Her Pokemon, an Umbreon, had taken a bullet meant to kill her. The dark fox had died instantly, but Rei had carried its corpse with her numbly until she had ended up back in the infirmary tents set up on the field. People shrugged her away as they tended to the injured, allowing her to scream at them in rage for only a limited time before she was taken to a cell, still carrying the body of her Pokemon.
Upon being released, she had been promoted as an apology, but it took Rei a few more months after the battle to recover from the stress and pain. The scars mental and physical, never healed and she wears a leather necklace bearing her Umbreon's fangs to this date. Recently, she had been given a new Pokemon to train in case of another battle.
