After meeting Gregora and Matthew, Boomer was alone again (unless you considered the Spinarak in his neck). "Keep your eyes open for wild pokemon!" Boomer told his little friend.
They went into the more off-main street area's, though making sure not too go too far in dark streets where they might get robbed.

As you stroll through the streets, intent on a battle it appears you will get just that as an Oddish steps from the shadows. Its gaze is at first surveying the empty streets, but as they move toward you they narrow.
"Oddish. Odd, odd, ish."
It, moves to stand in your path, his eyes telling of a battle to come. Yet even as it prepares to battle another pokemon appears, a Bidoof. It too looks ready to fight. But you can only have one opponent.
Which will you choose?

"Oh look look...wild pokemon. At least, they must be wild." Boomer said, looking at the wild oddish first, then the Bidoof. "I think that one with the leafs is a poison pokemon, Spinarak." Boomer is unaware that the Oddish is stronger than his Spinarak is, newbie as he is. "Lets give it a go, shall we?" He asks, and the Spinarak leaps from his arm, glaring intensely at the oddish. "Okay...lets see...lets make sure it doesn't run off first...Scary face!" Boomer says, still a bit unsure, though his Spinarak's stare intenses. "Okay, now lets try and do some damage...Poison sting!" He adds, hoping he's getting the hang of this.

As your Spinarak launches its rounds of attacks the Bidoof flees, suddenly afraid. The Oddish however stands it's ground, letting out a cry of battle as it charges forward, letting forth its own attacks. Spinarak's dark glare seems to paralyze Oddish, but for only a moment. Yet, the Scary Face did its job. Not that this Oddish planned on leaving the battle in the first place. Slower now as well, the Oddish continued forward, launching his first move. Unable to dodge, the Spinarak takes the Sweet Scent attack, his evasiveness dropping. Growling the Spinarak rushed forward, striking out with a Poison sting. The Oddish made a wild attempt to dodge, but he was slower then he had once been and the attack hit its mark. Angry now the Oddish whipped his head around, letting out a stream of razor sharp leafs. At the same time Spinarak lets out another poison sting, and at such close range both attacks hit their marks, sending both pokemon flying back...

Boomer jumps back a bit as his Spinarak gets hurt. "Are you alright?" He asks nervously, but the little spider seems fine.
"Alright then, my little friend! Lets show him what we've got!" Boomer said, smirking a little. "Use the poison I taught you! Toxic!" He said. The Spinarak reacts instantly, leaping itself forward. sharp red fangs ready to sink into the Oddish' body.
"Okay, lets strike it with the poison sting! Don't stop attacking!" He encourages.

Ready to turn the battle in his favor Oddish quickly starts off the next round with absorb, an attack Spinarak was unable to dodge. But the spider-like pokemon was ready with his own attack, his toxic was unexpected and hit is mark, poisoning the Oddish.
Not pausing to let his enemy regain his senses the Spinarak moves in for his next attack, letting loose a poison sting. The Oddish however wasn't as dazed as his opponent thought and at the last moment he dodged to the side. Sensing this as the right moment the Oddish let loose a razor leaf that hit dead on.
Angry at his misfortune the Spinarak moves in again with a second poison sting, but it meets the fate of the first and misses. Seeming to burst with satisfaction the Oddish used another absorb attack, and once again it hits it's mark.

"Be careful, Spinarak!" Boomer gasps as he sees the little fellow take damage.
"Okay, we poisoned it, so fall back and use string shot!" He says, the Spinarak leaping backwards and using a large amount of string shot to hold the little plant in place, hoping to render it unable to move while the poison kicked in.
(Several rounds of using string shot to let the Toxic take effect. Boomer will use a pokeball before he notices the oddish going completely knock out, though)

The Oddish shook itself, already feeling the effects of poison but it ignored it, rushing forward with a razor leaf. However, as it swung it's head back to unleash it's attack, Spinarak let loose a string shot.
Tied up in the stick web, Oddish struggled, only to be hit again and again. Growling it attempted another razor leaf, it failed. Rearing back to try again it froze, crying out as poison burned him.
